By 9:00PM on Saturday, December 5, 2009 the Victoria Inn’s ballroom was a-rockin’ to the sounds of Maverick Entertainment’s music and games! DJ Andre had nearly every guest up and out of their seats dancing, shimmying into conga lines and racing about the hall in search of unique items in the hopes of winning a prize! Thank you so much Andre and Maverick Entertainment for helping us make our Holiday Gala the swinging Holiday Party of the year!

 

This event took shape with the help of our Presenting Sponsor TBAYTEL whose generous support of the Chamber and this yearly event is fervently appreciated. Thank you also to Telos Business Solutions for participating as an Event Supporter of the Chamber Holiday Gala.

 

The ballroom doors opened to our festive and stylishly dressed guests promptly at 6:00PM. After an hour of laughter, chatting and networking they were seated to a feast presented by the fine staff of the Victoria Inn, our gracious hosts for the evening. Our four-course meal included a medley of wild mushroom consommé soup followed by a rich fresh salad that was dressed with sweet apple cider vinaigrette. Our entrée of the evening was an 8oz beef tenderloin topped with ginger mustard sauternes sauce and accompanied by roasted mini carrots and parsnips. Finally, for dessert we were presented with a mouth-watering chocolate ginger truffle tort with hints of pear and ginger drizzled with pear caramel sauce. A special thank you to Franco, our Head Chef, and his staff for the delicious meal he prepared.

 

Guests were charmed by Harold Wilson, our Chamber President and the evening’s MC, who entertained the crowd in his deliverance of raffle prizes and of course, his boogying-down on the dance floor! A special thank you to Barry Radtke from Laura Secord, who so generously donated the evening’s Grand Prize: The 12-Months of Christmas.

 

We would also like to thank our other prize donators for the evening who provided holiday gifts to some of our lucky attendees. Thank you Capital Financial Services, Delight, Fountain Tire, Granite Tops, Intercity Industrial Supply, Lakehead Communications, Oliver, Yaskiw and Associates and the Victoria Inn. We treasure your kindness and support.

 

Each of the tables was decorated with glimmering gold centerpieces, hand assembled by the wonderful staff at Helium Highs. Over 800 little golden bobbles and countless candles were used in the creation of our trio of martini glass centerpieces or found within the iridescent treescapes beneath the towering glass stands. The staff of Helium Highs and many members of the Chamber staff spent the morning of the event assembling each of these delightful creations and came back bright and early Sunday morning to disassemble them. Thank you so much for your hard work and talents.
