A Vision ~ Strategic Direction

The Kind of Chamber We Want to Be

We want to play a business leadership role and position ourselves to take advantage of the potential we know we have. We want to be viewed as an international player with global reach. We want to be a leader within the business community in Northwestern Ontario. We want our members to see us as an organization proud to belong to and the business organization recognized as the voice of business in Thunder Bay.

We want to be creative, future-oriented and flexible in finding solutions. It will be clear that everything we do is focused on our members in a fiscally responsible way. We want them to think of us first because we not only provide solutions to their issues and respond to their needs, but do so ahead of our competitors.

In keeping with our vision, we will invest in new revenue [business] opportunities to serve our members, and focus on process to reduce costs while improving service. We will continue to improve our members satisfaction and sustain our commitment to be the voice of business. We will provide reliable, accessible and speedy service to our members and recognize our opportunity to be leaders.

We will embrace solutions to show our members that technology can fulfill their physical and electronic delivery needs in an efficient and cost effective manner.

What We Must Do

  • Concentrate our efforts
  • Align functions and resources
  • Re-deploy resources
  • Make member-visible improvements
Our New Vision,  What It Is,  What It Means

This vision statement reflects the leadership role the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce has set out to achieve over the next three years. It is based on how the Chamber views its growth potential and what it can become in the future. In short, what we want to be as a Chamber.

A great deal of thought has gone into developing this new vision and ensuring that key themes were incorporated into the plan.
